Light
brown, medium brown, dark roasted and black are some of the common responses
when we talk about the coffee. This depends on the color element of coffee
flavor, which is important for the roasted coffee beans to fulfill the demand
of the customers. The successful coffee manufacturers carried their process of
production by following a strict color evaluation process. This quality control
process of coffee bean’s color helps to monitor
the flavor of the coffee throughout the manufacturing
process and even at the time of roasting.
Different colors of Roasted Coffee
Beans
The
process of roasting transforms the flavor and color of the beans. Hence, it is
necessary to keep a proper check on the coffee beans at the time of roasting
and needs to be monitored carefully. There are four categories of roasted
coffee such as dark, medium, medium dark, and light. The color of the coffee
affects its taste. The dark color of coffee tastes bitter as compared to that
of light colored coffee. For complete quality control of coffees, colorimeters are used to determine the
level of roast. Testronix instruments offer a broad
range of colorimeters to test the different food products. TP60 CP is the best
measuring device which is used to measure the color of roasted coffee beans.
The instrument offers valuable data
regarding the color quality of the coffee. The device provides the results in Pass/Fail criteria and determines whether
the product meets the actual color measurement requirements or not.
